Staff Engineer. Agent Infrastructure.
I am a Staff Engineer at Netflix focused on production infrastructure for autonomous AI agents.
My work sits at the intersection of distributed systems, developer productivity, AI safety, platform engineering, and enterprise AI governance. I care about the control-plane layer that lets organizations safely scale agentic workflows: secure runtimes, model gateways, tool governance, observability, cost attribution, evaluation, and targeted kill switches.
I was a founding member of Netflix's platform modernization team and have designed, architected, and implemented production agent infrastructure used across coding, Slack, research, and support workflows. My focus is turning autonomous software evolution from impressive demos into operable, measurable, governed platform capability.
Outside of work, I write about agent infrastructure, brain-inspired AGI, economics, software systems, and speculative fiction. I am the author of the sci-fi novel Rebel Hearts Alien Skies, and I live in Las Vegas with my wife Caitlin, our three kids, a German Wirehaired Pointer, and an Australian Cattle Dog.
Where I Operate
Agent Control Planes
Identity, policy, telemetry, tool governance, runtime isolation, cost attribution, evals, and kill switches — the infrastructure layer for operating autonomous AI agents at enterprise scale.
Secure Agent Runtimes
Sandboxing, least privilege, runtime control, safe tool access, and bounded authority for production agents acting on real systems.
Autonomous Software Evolution
Production agent systems that ship validated pull requests across large software ecosystems, turning repetitive engineering work into governed, measurable automation.
AI Cost & Observability
Gateway-centered observability and cost attribution for agent workflows: model calls, tool calls, session timelines, spend, outcomes, and failure modes.
Adjacent interests
Outside my main focus on agent infrastructure, I work on commercial real estate and capital allocation, explore brain-inspired AGI (temporal memory, cortical columns, sparse distributed representations, online local learning), and write speculative fiction. These show up on the site as side projects, not as the main course.
How I Think
Systems Thinking
The best solutions come from understanding how parts interact, not just optimizing components in isolation. This applies to software architecture, deal structure, and research methodology.
Disciplined Execution
Ideas are abundant. The differentiator is executing with precision, managing risk explicitly, and maintaining quality under pressure.
Long Time Horizons
The most valuable work compounds over years, not quarters. Building for durability means choosing foundations that support growth rather than optimizing for short-term metrics.
Human Freedom
Technology should expand human capability and autonomy. Influenced by thinkers like Carl Menger, Frederic Bastiat, and Ludwig von Mises.
