Colby Callahan is a Staff Engineer at Netflix focused on agent sandbox architecture, secure AI systems, and autonomous software evolution. He builds high-leverage infrastructure that allows intelligent systems to operate safely, scale responsibly, and create real operational value.
Outside of software, he structures and operates commercial real estate investments, bringing the same systems thinking to capital allocation, underwriting, and execution in the real world.
He is also obsessed with brain-inspired AGI, particularly temporal memory, dendritic context, sequence learning, grid cells, and cortical-column-style approaches to intelligence. His long-term interest is not just better tools, but better models of learning and intelligence.
Colby lives in Las Vegas with his wife Caitlin, their three kids, a German Wirehaired Pointer, and an Australian Cattle Dog. He is interested in physics, economics, finance, fiction, and the future of human capability, and is the author of the sci-fi novel Rebel Hearts Alien Skies.
